Sa Prata

Caterina looked after breakfast on both mornings and was friendly, helpful, and full of suggestions for local places to see. There was a good variety of food, and checking out was quick. Our cottage was spacious, comfortable, clean, and had air conditioning. The hotel consists of around a dozen cottages, some facing the pool, with parking right outside. We stayed in mid-June 2023 while visiting North East Sardinia from the U.K. The hotel is up a hill in Budoni, with a nice sea view and pool, and the beach and town centre are within a 10-minute drive. Francesca welcomed us at check-in. A peaceful, pleasant three-star hotel, and I recommend a stay.

Breakfast came with lots of choices, including prosciutto, pecorino, bacon, salami, omelette, boiled eggs, cereal, yogurt, butter, jam, Nutella, fruit salad, melon, three kinds of fresh juice, cakes, croissants, muffins, and delicious coffee. The staff were extremely friendly and happy to help. You can ask reception for a beach umbrella, and they’ll lend you one. They also let us keep our room for a few hours past the usual checkout time because there were no other bookings that day. The hotel is in a quiet spot about 1 km from the sea. Our room was spacious and clean, with the necessary equipment, spotless towels, bathroom toiletries, and fresh bed linen every three days. There were also two pool towels in the closet. Parking was free, with plenty of spaces. Several restaurants are nearby, and reception gave us a 10% discount for three of them through the hotel’s partnerships. We were very happy with our choice and recommend it.

The room was large, very clean, and the beds were comfortable. The air conditioning was so loud that we couldn’t use it in the evening, though luckily we could leave the window open. Breakfast was filling, with fresh fruit, meat, cheese, pane carasau, yogurt, cereal, toast, and different kinds of milk. I would’ve liked Greek-style yogurt without added sugar, but there was still a good selection, and they’ll make you a cappuccino if you ask. It’s a quiet little place and kept really clean. Not a fancy hotel, but good for the price and comfort. The staff are great for local advice, lending beach umbrellas, and arranging a late check-in. There’s a pool, and you can get to nearby beaches by car. I think having a car is really necessary to visit Sardinia. Try Pedra Niedda around the corner, too. It’s terrific.

Francesca and Caterina greeted us with a smile each morning at breakfast. It was delicious, with bread, fruit, yogurt, cereal, and local foods, and the staff were very friendly. Dinner is possible when enough guests join in. The chef made us a great pasta dish and pork, and there was so much food. I still can’t manage a four-course Italian dinner, but I’ll keep trying. We spent a week at Sa Prata and loved it. Our apartment was big enough for two and had air conditioning, a minibar, and a television. The bathroom was practical and came with a hair dryer. If you want a quiet, pleasant resort as a base for exploring the island’s northeast, Sa Prata is a great place to visit.
