Hotel Pineta

The room felt more like camping, and everything seemed very outdated. It was so cold that sleeping outside might have been warmer. When I asked about heating, I was told to just get under the blanket. The minibar had only a 0.5 water bottle. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

For 135 euros, I left disappointed. A night before, I had a more generous continental breakfast in a room with similar comfort at another hotel for 40 euros less, and breakfast here didn't make up for the price. The food was okay but there wasn't much choice, and it only opens at 7:00, not even two minutes earlier. The building feels like a 1970s construction with some modern work inside, but the floor was left as it was. Noise carries indoors, and depending on whether your room faces the road, traffic can be noisy too. The place is a maze, with closed doors and not enough signs. The TV lagged now and then. There are some good points: you can park right in front of your room, the mattress was good, the room was warm, comfortable, and clean, and you can sit down in the shower. Still, to me, it felt like an extended, unattractive holiday club with old infrastructure, and not worth 135 euros.

It has an old school feel, and I mean that kindly. Many rooms have their own partly covered parking, but check when booking because some don't, and then you have to leave the car outside the property. The showers have mold, and the “supreme” rooms are partly underground, so the view isn't great. The TV is far too small for the room, and there's no safe. The hotel is in a business and industrial area. The main road gets very busy with Italian traffic during the day, which could be intimidating if you're driving. The breakfast area is nice, and the breakfast is Italian style. I found the staff unfriendly, and they treated me like an idiot for not already knowing their day to day procedures before arriving.

For a road trip, a motel like this works well since you can park just inches from your front door. The room was fine and well equipped, though the shower was a bit small. I travel a lot and don't often recommend hotels, but the value here was exceptional.
