The shared kitchen seemed acceptable when we arrived, but the rest of our stay at this guesthouse on Via Manno in Cagliari was awful. The building is very old and looked unsafe as soon as we stepped inside. For what we paid, the room was disgusting. It had a heavy musty odor from the moment we opened the door, and the dampness was constant and made being there almost unbearable. The wall by the bed was dirty, the table was ruined, and the air conditioning remote had dead batteries. We struggled to turn the unit on and off all evening until the batteries were replaced. The bathroom was dim because its bulb was nearly burned out, and the shower hadn’t been cleaned properly, with dirty grout. They changed the bulb the next morning. That same morning, they washed the room with bleach, apparently hoping to hide the musty smell. It left an even harsher chemical odor, mixed with the damp air, and breathing in the room was difficult. The damp smell was so strong it reminded me of a cellar. There was rising damp throughout the room, even on the second floor, and it had rusted the curtain rod. We left the transom window open for two and a half days, but it made little difference because it faces an airless light shaft and the smell stayed trapped. I can’t recommend this place. The value for money is scandalous. It felt like a hostel dorm, and this is about basic decency, not high expectations. Never again.

The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and had everything we needed, with care put into the details. From arrival, we felt warmly welcomed, and the staff stayed attentive and ready to help with anything. It was the kind of place where you feel looked after. I’ve only good things to say and will definitely return.

Approdo Rooms was a great base for a few days. Getting around was easy because of the location, and the room was quiet, clean, and comfortable. The staff were consistently kind and helpful. I had a wonderful stay and would happily recommend it.
