The house is new, beautiful and welcoming, and it was comfortable to stay in. We could use the kitchen during our visit. The woman was friendly and dealt with our concerns quickly. There was a lot of coming and going for cleaning. Breakfast could perhaps be better.

The service was beyond excellent, with helpful waiters, and the wine was very good with something for every palate. The platter was a great way to sample delicious Sardinian cheeses. Take their tips for places to visit too, who better to ask than someone who lives there?!

For my 11-night stay, the experience was negative. The room wasn't cleaned well, and sheets and room cleaning only happened once a week, something to keep in mind if you're staying longer than a few days. The towels were stained before we used them. On arrival the shower was clogged, though a plumber later cleared it. We had cold showers on two nights and once halfway through another stay, because the boiler malfunctioned. The plumber fixed it within a couple of hours. The shower rail was broken and unusable, and there was no shower door, so we had to be careful not to wet the floor. The triple room was a double bed plus an extra bed, not the sofa bed stated in the conditions. That bed was small, uncomfortable and noisy, at best suitable for children. The pillows were very high, which may suit some people, but I slept on something else. Clearer listing details about room cleaning, extra cleaning charges, weekly linen changes, and the extra bed, which wasn't a sofa bed suitable for adults, would have helped. Was the cold water just bad luck? At least it'd be good to shower without holding the shower head, or to have soap in the dispenser. We bought our own soap. Communication was only via WhatsApp, and the host didn't always answer calls when we needed him. There were positives. The location was good, about a 15-minute walk from the Bastion of Saint Remy and the city centre, with bars, markets and ATMs nearby. Scooter rentals are available throughout the city centre. Street parking was easy to find but metered, and if you left in the morning and returned in the evening, it cost a few euros. The parallel street is free, though finding a spot there isn't easy. The air conditioning worked well. Breakfast was appreciated, though basic, and I personally chose the bar each time. The owner's response also bothered me. He said, “We used to clean every day, but now we're limiting it due to COVID. You are guests, but you will have to take care of the apartment with us. Everything you need to keep yourself and the house clean is available. The common areas are always cleaned... there are B&Bs that also include daily cleaning of the rooms, but they cost much more. You could have chosen those; you would have been better off.” That was my experience, the choice is yours.

The room was clean, and the owner was really kind. Self check-in was easy, and being right in the center was handy. There was some noise from upstairs during the night, though.
