Maison Savoia B&b Apartment

Breakfast comes from the bar across the way, a coffee and a cornetto. It doesn't open until 7:30 am, so you miss breakfast if you leave early, though you can still get a coffee another time. Maison Savoia was a very clean, central place, with shops, points of interest and restaurants all within walking distance. We had a nice short stay and would stay again when visiting Cagliari.

There's no lift, and there are lots of stairs, so be ready for that. Although the location looks good on paper, it's in a pedestrian-only zone (ZTL), so you can't reach it by car. We had to park far away, pay for the nearest car park, and walk with all our luggage. The rooms look nice, but smelled awful of mould. The owner also has a terrible way of managing the doors: we accidentally closed one that couldn't be opened from outside, and ended up waiting outside in the middle of the night for more than three hours until he arrived. I won't return.

When we arrived, I called the hotelier, who said he'd be there in 10 minutes. It felt more like two! 😂 Google still had the old street name and house number, so we didn't find it straight away, even though the hotelier had already changed them. The bathroom was the best, and the hotel was cleaned every day. The hotelier spoke very good English and was a great guy. Breakfast is at a cafe behind the hotel, which I loved more than getting cheap bread and marmalade or jelly. It wasn't expensive either.

We had a wonderful stay in a really nice place, right beside a small, cosy piazza.
