Hotel Residence Ulivi e Palme

A very affordable place that worked well for a budget stay. My room had been renovated more recently and was clean, comfortable, and air conditioned. The rooms are nothing fancy and some spots could probably use repainting, but for the price, I have no complaints. Breakfast and staff were fine too.

The people serving breakfast, the reception team, and the cleaning staff were all very nice. The room had air conditioning, which was a plus, but the old bed was uncomfortable. The hotel itself feels old and not really renovated. In the bathroom, the towel stands were old and the wood looked a bit mouldy, and I sometimes noticed insects in the room. Breakfast was average. It would have been nice to see some cheese and more vegetables.

We only needed somewhere for the one night, and this hotel did the job after we had trouble booking our preferred options. They let us leave our luggage there after checkout for the day, which was helpful. At the desk, service was basic, neither rude nor particularly friendly, and checkout wasn’t quick. The room was clean, but the bathroom’s horrible shade of green made it feel unrelaxing. The air conditioning didn’t work. With the window slightly open, the room was tolerable in mid-September.

Breakfast was fine, and the breakfast staff were a little friendlier. The hotel is a bit out of the city, though having a car worked for us. I can’t say how public transport is. The reception staff barely returned our greetings and were quite unfriendly. When we lost our bag, which was our own fault, they weren’t helpful; a rude response when we asked someone to remove a lizard from our room was another disappointment. The rooms are very old, and the air conditioning felt like a fan. Lowering the setting didn’t seem to change anything. I wouldn’t return.
