Myrtus Guest House Cagliari

After we posted a less than positive review, the owner began threatening us and demanding money over things that made no sense. We had left the room and accommodation clean and undamaged. This was one of the worst places we've stayed, and I'd strongly advise avoiding it.

The room was roomy, and the bathroom was nicely equipped, but at this price I didn't feel it was good value. Since check-in was self-service, there wasn't really any service to comment on. The code didn't work on the third floor, though the door still opened, and that's when we found the annex one floor below. Breakfast is outsourced to a bar or restaurant, which was disappointing and felt like a rip-off. A croissant and a drink would describe it better. The croissant itself was homemade and delicious. It was a new experience, though not entirely satisfying, and now I know what to expect from breakfast arranged this way.

We had good contact with the managers by text and felt safe in the room. The room and bathroom were clean, and the bathroom had toiletries. The bedding was impeccable, and there was a small fridge. The sliding glass door opened all the way. For what we paid, the service was perfectly adequate. Breakfast is served on the street next to the room and comes with a pastry, coffee and juice. If you're staying a night in Cagliari, we'd recommend it.

For the money, I think this is the best little hotel in the city center. Try the Cagliari puff pastry pizza at breakfast, it's delicious.
