Vista Suites - Piazza Yenne

I’m sending photos so you can see just how terrible the place is.

We expected a lot when we picked the room that same day. The view over the city was the one real highlight, especially in the morning, though it was lovely after dark too. The room itself was standard, with a standard bed and no optional extras. The description listed slippers, Wi-Fi, toiletries, and continental breakfast, but those weren’t provided. The tiny bathroom had a worn, unstable sink and mold across it. We paid a “discounted” €125 per night. Breakfast was another issue. The website said continental breakfast was included, so we asked where to get it. We were directed to the bar downstairs with the voucher they had given us. It was a nice place and the waiters were exceptional, but they said the voucher covered only an Italian breakfast of coffee and croissants. We asked the host whether that was right since we’d paid for something else, and were told the booking site wasn’t up to date. We got the same answer to every request about what was missing. The waiter explained there were three voucher amounts, €2, €7, and €10, apparently handed out at the host’s discretion. For continental breakfast, we were supposed to get the €10 voucher, not one just for coffee and pastries. It felt like a bluff, and after that the host never replied to us again.

My partner and I had a really bad stay at Vista Suits. We booked through Booking.com, but the room looked nothing like the photos, and the owners weren’t there when we arrived or answering their phone. A very kind housekeeper let us in and gave us the room we preferred because nobody knew which one we’d booked. A few minutes later, we were called and told to move. The room we ended up in was dirty, with hairs on the pillows, and had a glass partition between the bathroom and bedroom that wasn’t mentioned anywhere. The one time we got the owners on the phone, they promised a refund, but it never arrived. We called several more times and heard nothing. The owners were unreliable, the place didn’t match the pictures, and spending vacation time chasing them was the last thing we wanted.

The building could use some work, and the room was on the small side, but it was nicely furnished and the view from Vista Suite was fantastic. I found it a pleasant stay at a good price. The rooms have modern furnishings and seem well suited to couples. I’d recommend it if a beautiful view is what you’re after.
