Hotel Sonnenhof

Just top notch, super, and everything you could want.

The food was wonderful, and the rooms were modern and furnished with care. We’d never seen a view like that before. Our hosts were so warm, and it’s clear they love what they do. At the end of our stay they gave us a jar of dried herbs after I said how much I liked them on the meat. We’ll definitely recommend you to everyone. The Darsow family, all the way from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in the far north.

We’d love to come back anytime. The spa is cozy, just right for warming up after a cold hike or bike ride, and the views across Merano, Schenna, the Hirzer/Iffinger mountains, and the valley are breathtaking. The staff are attentive, incredibly friendly, and helpful, while the rooms are beautiful, clean, and comfortable, with a very new and elegant bathroom. The food is fantastic too, from the world-class breakfast buffet to the afternoon tea and cakes and the evening menu (see photos).

The team deserve special praise for being so friendly, attentive, and warm. You can tell the hosts put real passion and dedication into their work. This was our second stay at the Sonnenhof, and we felt at ease as soon as we arrived. The rooms are modern and stylish, the view is breathtaking, and the food is a real culinary treat.
