I arrived at the exact time I'd told them the day before, but nobody was there. I had to call a number and wait for someone to come open the hotel itself. The rooms were very dirty, with some very suspicious bathroom stains, and the furniture was old and held together with tape. Cigarette smoke stank throughout the place, including the rooms and pillows, and it was the first thing I noticed in the morning. For this level of service, 100 euros a night is an insane price. The rooms and service were very poor overall.

The hospitality and cleanliness are top notch, and you feel at home. The rooms are comfortable and clean, though they could do with some updating. The food is good, and the location makes a handy base: about half an hour from the sea, Savona, Spotorno, and Bergeggi, as well as Piedmont, Prato Nevoso, Mondovì, and Cuneo. A good compromise for getting around. I'll be back.
