The homemade breakfast buffet was fantastic, and our host was delightful. The apartment was spotless, comfortable and nicely furnished, with a pleasant terrace and view. It’s around a five-minute walk to the centre of Caldaro, and the lake is a short drive away. A great starting point for seeing the area. We’d gladly come back.

The village centre is a ten-minute walk away, with great restaurants and bars where you can easily linger. The quiet setting is also handy for walks through the wine region and cycling trips. After almost nine hours on the road we arrived at Sonneckhof tired, but felt at home almost immediately. Since we stayed longer, we got to enjoy two apartments, and we had everything we needed. The kitchens were superbly equipped, and the furnishings were modern and comfortable, with every detail considered. Both apartments were bright, warm and very clean. Most of all, our hostess Mirjam and her family made the stay memorable with their consistently friendly, attentive manner.
We especially appreciated the free access to the lake at Gretl am See, a lovely way to cool off. The guesthouse is in a quiet area but close to the town centre, so it’s easy to get around. Our room was clean, modern and cozy, and breakfast was generous and thoughtfully prepared. The hostess and her family made us feel welcome and were very helpful. We’ll definitely return.
The owner was incredibly warm and friendly, and always had a suggestion for an activity or a good restaurant. Breakfast was delicious and rounded out the stay nicely. The house is in a peaceful spot, about a ten-minute walk from the town centre. The holiday apartment is in a lovely house, with modern, clean rooms and all the amenities we needed.
