La Selva Hotel

After a day out, I returned to find a foul smell in the room, apparently from liquid that had soaked some of my belongings. My things had also been moved around while we were gone, which I assume happened during daily cleaning. The room was clean enough, and we got fresh towels each day. But the walls were thin, breakfast choices were limited, and the air conditioner didn't seem able to reach the temperature shown on its display. There’s a restaurant attached to the hotel that holds parties. The noise at night was excessive for my family and me, and party guests took up parking spaces meant for hotel guests.

We were the only guests there that evening, sitting in the lovely back garden in a very central spot. The staff were warm and kind, and the service was great. We came with several friends for a birthday dinner and had the fixed menu. The food was good, especially the coccoli. La Selva was elegant and attentive to the details. I’d happily recommend it for dinner.

The restaurant is the standout, with a broad selection of very good dishes and pizzas. The room was spacious, clean, and had all the comforts we needed. There’s a large interior parking area, and the location is easy to find and reach. Wi-Fi works throughout the property.

It's 12:30 am on June 12-2017, and neither of the two rooms we rented has working air conditioning. We paid through Expedia more than two months ahead. We checked in at 2:30 pm yesterday and reported the problem, and the front desk said they'd take care of it. When we got back at midnight, nothing had been fixed. There wasn't anyone at reception or anywhere else in the hotel to talk to. The lobby AC works, so I feel like sleeping there. I've never seen an unattended hotel like this. Make your own call if you're looking for somewhere around here. Expedia sucks too. Never again.
