Hotel Ambasciatori

The historic center is about a 15-minute walk away. We liked the pool, and the views of Calitri were nice.

The pool area is lovely, and the staff are friendly and helpful. It’s in an excellent spot near the center, grocery stores, and other places to eat. The building feels very dated, though, and there’s no mini-fridge in the room. Breakfast was just adequate, with most of the sweet things coming packaged.

We stopped here for a few weeks ago on the way to Puglia, and the stay was a pleasant surprise. The rooms and pool were clean, and the staff were friendly. We also enjoyed the beautiful village and how kind the locals were. It was a lovely chance to relax and try typical Irpinia food at reasonable prices. We’d happily repeat the experience. 😊

We booked four nights, but left the next morning. The photos are misleading, and this place felt like a nightmare rather than a 3-star hotel. The reception was dull and dirty. Breakfast was stale rusks, a very old packaged cake, and skimmed milk with coffee pods that somehow made two coffees each. The rooms were just as bad: dusty and filthy, rust everywhere, windows that looked as if they hadn't been wiped in years, and insects all over with no mosquito net. The double bed was made by pushing two singles together. The minibar didn't work, and it had half-full bottles inside, so it clearly hadn't been cleaned. The room mirror was broken, and the bathroom door wouldn't stay upright.
