La Vista B&B

Our room was comfortable, with a good mattress, and the balcony was a lovely spot for breakfast or a drink. Breakfast was simple but very good, with fresh fruit and croissants. Everyone was friendly, and we really enjoyed the service and location. The quality of service was excellent. We highly recommend La Vista B&B to anyone heading to Calitri.

The owners made us feel at home and served a varied breakfast. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful night at B&B La Vista, with a beautiful room and a very comfortable bed. We'd highly recommend it for a special evening in Calitri.

Marco and Samira were kind and helpful, but that doesn't make up for the serious problems with the place or how we were treated, especially at the price. We paid €100 per person per day for a single room, with breakfast not included. The sleeping arrangements were poor. There was a double bed frame in the middle of the room without a mattress, plus a made-up single bed. With no luggage shelf, I put my suitcase on the dismantled bed frame. There was no closet either, just four or five hangers on a wall rack, so most clothes had to stay in the suitcase. The bathroom was outside the rooms and shared with my friend, so you could run into other guests or the owner in the hallway after a shower. Of the two bathrooms, ours was the smaller one, extremely tiny, with no shelf or bidet. The sink was so small that even washing my hands splashed water all over the floor. It was practically unusable, and you could basically only shower there. Breakfast cost extra, and there were tea bags, but no coffee. There was no coffee maker, though I mentioned it, so perhaps they'll provide one. A coffee pod machine was there, but no pods, and I couldn't find any to buy in town. The rooms were extremely hot, with no air conditioning, just a floor-mounted cold-air pump. We left it running when we went out so we wouldn't return to a burning hot room, but it always switched itself off. That makes me think someone was entering our room without telling us, which I find very serious. There were also two serious privacy and document issues. Although there were two of us in separate rooms, we got only one key to the front door. When I asked for another, I was told we could ring their doorbell even at five in the morning. I don't think I should have to tell them when or in what condition I'll be coming home. On arrival, they took our documents and said we'd get them back only when we left. We were without them for four days. I wonder what they were used for, since we weren't given a receipt for anything else. The day before departure, I asked what time we needed to leave. The owner kindly said we could stay as long as we wanted because they had no bookings. But around 11:00 the next morning, she asked if she and her husband could enter my room to move some furniture and put a mattress on the frame to make up a double bed for an unexpected reservation. I gathered my belongings from around the room and moved them into my friend's room. They said we could stay as long as we liked, but we couldn't use the bathroom because it was being cleaned for the new guests. So we left.
