Laffittacamere La Piazzetta

A clean, cozy room in a good location.

The owner was very kind, and we even ate dinner at their restaurant. Our one-night stay at "alla piazzetta" was comfortable: the rooms are roomy, there's a kitchen guests can use, and the property is well looked after. Parking is only a few meters away. It's near the town center but far enough from the bustle.

We got there earlier than planned, but the owner welcomed us without any fuss, even though we'd given him a different arrival time. The price was more than fair. The room was lovely and spacious, and the bathroom came with toiletries, including a toothbrush my husband is always forgetting. We'd definitely come back.

I want to set the record straight after the owner called me insincere. This is my actual review, written now. I first reviewed on Booking after unfortunately booking a room for last Sunday. The location is perfect, but the rest was absolutely not. I travel a lot and don't mind paying when something is worth it. This time, I felt the money was taken from me. For 45 euros, I expected more. I've paid that much or less at other well located B&Bs that deserved the name, and I've always written both positive and negative reviews when needed. People rely on reviews to know the truth, not to help someone make a profit. We had an event and couldn't leave without paying, so we stayed. Booking hadn't said the air conditioning was only available by the hour. We found out only after arriving that it would run from 9 pm to 1 am, even though it was 45 degrees. We expected the room to be cool when we got back, but instead it was like a crematorium. We couldn't sleep and had to flee early in the morning. Since it was nighttime, we texted the owner and got a reply the next morning. They apologized, said unexpected things happen, and offered a refund. I ignored the message and literally ran out. There were several spiders on the shower tray that I removed myself, and barely a roll of toilet paper. Everything felt so cheap, despite Booking saying the place was top notch and listing services that weren't there. After a few hours, once I'd cleared my head, I asked for a refund. Only then did I discover that air conditioning wasn't listed among the property's amenities, so I felt completely taken for a ride. I don't know whether Booking.com will refund anything, even a percentage. The owner certainly won't, since he says he did his duty. I don't recommend this guesthouse. The Duomo nearby costs the same and is excellent.
