B&B Lucantò

The B&B is right in the center, with a lovely view and new furniture, but our stay was frustrating. We were four couples at first, booking three €50 rooms. We were told one had its own bathroom and the other two shared bathrooms. Later, after a long wait, we were allowed to add an off-site apartment for €60. They said its size meant it would take longer to heat. One couple couldn't come because of health problems. We still paid for their unused room, yet the rest of us were put in a three-bedroom apartment, and one of the three still had to pay €60 for no reason. The rooms had stained duvets, dust on the furniture and floors, a dirty fridge, and a bathroom with almost no toilet paper left. We could put up with those things, we're kids on vacation. But it was 15 degrees outside, and we were used to much warmer weather, so we asked to have the radiators on for an hour to shower. They called the request “out of place.” We spent perhaps half an hour arguing and literally begging the owner to turn them on. He was quite vocal. When we mentioned the problems we'd already overlooked, he said he couldn't clean rooms every time a guest left and that gas cost too much to use the radiators unnecessarily. It’s a shame, because the location and view are so good. In our opinion, attention to detail and guests’ requests should come first. And please don’t say we never stayed there. I can easily attach a photo of the payment receipt.

We spotted a sign for this B&B by chance and got a lovely welcome. Angela really did her best to make us comfortable, and even served us a delicious plate of pasta.

The location worked well, close to the piazza and only a few minutes away on foot. The rooms were clean, though there were three when we were expecting four. And despite the “bed & breakfast” name, breakfast was nowhere to be seen. It was okay, just not quite what the name suggests.

We booked two nights for four people, breakfast included, but got only three beds in an apartment for three. They couldn't add another bed, and breakfast wasn't mentioned either. A shame, though it worked out as a temporary solution.
