Hotel Alberta

I’ve stayed here twice and had an amazing time both times. The food is great, the rooms are very clean, and the beach is just a few minutes’ walk away.

The room was in good shape and had clearly been updated fairly recently. The owners were incredibly friendly.

The place had a bad vibe. I didn't like it.

Breakfast is a big part of why we keep coming back to Hotel Luca. The sweet and savory buffet is prepared with real care: warm focaccia, artisan bread, cold cuts, hard-boiled eggs, sliced cheeses, and Tuscan caciotta that goes especially well with honey. There’s also yogurt kept chilled, juice and water, plus hot drinks made to order by Mr. Luca, who patiently takes everyone’s requests. The Signora makes an array of tempting cakes, including chocolate mousse cake, apple and pine nut strudel, jam tarts, cream-filled cakes, chocolate salami, and apple pie. We’ve never had better chocolate salami. Fresh croissants, pastries, and Tuscan cantuccini are there too. It’s a lovely way to start the day. The location feels almost magical: it’s peaceful, with no traffic or nighttime noise, while still right in central Lido di Camaiore. The beach is under 300 meters away, as are the lively promenade, Pontile, and the area for evening events. We often walk to Marina di Pietrasanta and Viareggio, which is a very pleasant outing. We’ve found the welcome and service just as good on an off-season visit as at other times. The stay is comfortable, the atmosphere calm and friendly, and the facilities work well, so returning always feels like the right choice. The recently renovated hotel is air-conditioned, has an elevator, and is accessible to disabled guests. Free parking in the courtyard is very convenient, especially compared with hotels where spaces can be a few hundred meters away. Rooms are clean and practical, with roller shutters that darken the room well, unlike the shutters generally found in Tuscany. We had a double room with two separate beds, which isn’t something every hotel offers. The new mattresses and pillows were comfortable. There was a refrigerator, TV, Wi-Fi, and a balcony with a sunshade and a lovely distinctive view of both the sea and the maritime pines, reminders of the old pine forest that once surrounded the area. The large renovated bathroom had a window and a roomy shower. Many thanks again to the Signora and her son Luca for their warm welcome and generous service. We’re sure we’ll be back soon.
