Il Girasole Country House

The room was impeccably clean, and breakfast had a wide choice of homemade cakes. Dinner was very good, with meat and seafood, and they served homemade liqueurs afterward. The tables are close, but not uncomfortably so, making it easy to chat and meet people. The resort is beautifully maintained, with a lovely garden and a sunny pool looking out over the Adriatic. It's a fantastic stay in the Marche countryside, less than a 10-minute drive from the sea. Francesco and Marco are wonderful people, and I'm so glad I met them. We can't wait to go back!

Priscilla made us feel very welcome and took time to suggest places to see, including a lovely place for a romantic dinner by the beach. The room was spotless and roomy, with air conditioning, mosquito screens, a minibar and a large private bathroom with a window. We liked the refillable soap dispensers too, so there was no need for little disposable plastic bottles. The setting is green and peaceful, yet handy for Sirolo, Numana, the Camerano Caves and Mount Conero. Recanati, Offagna, Frasassi Caves and Ancona are also within reach for day trips. A good base for beach days, walks in the mountains or exploring nearby. We'd happily come back, for both the room and the owner's kindness.

The duck gnocchi were a highlight. We went to "Il girasole Country House" two Sundays ago for my daughter's confirmation, and despite the restaurant being full, the homemade food was generous and the service was spot on. The staff were friendly and everything was well organized. A lovely setting and a tidy garden, made even nicer by the sunny weather. Highly recommend it.

The garden and lawn are lovely, so it was a shame we couldn't really sit and relax outside. We used the easy self check-in, but the restaurant was using the breakfast area and the pallet benches weren't usable, which left us without a guest seating area. I know running a place like this takes a lot of work, and these are suggestions rather than complaints meant to dismiss that. The rooms were clean and spacious, and with the windows open and mosquito screens in place, we didn't need the air conditioning. The property is surrounded by nature, away from town but close to beaches and places worth visiting. Breakfast was simple but nicely prepared, and Priscilla was kind and helpful. The rate for two wasn't especially expensive, though it wasn't especially cheap either. I would have liked standard shampoo, shower gel and soap, plus small bottles of water in the room. We'll definitely return, and maybe these ideas will be useful.
