Borgo Dé Varano

The rooms were very clean, and the staff were really kind and friendly. There’s no air conditioning, so the windows should have mosquito screens, and the very old doors could do with an update. Breakfast was awful: no savory food, just packaged croissants and cakes, probably from the supermarket. The cappuccino was good, thanks to the very kind girl at the bar. The hotel will do if you can’t find anything else, but avoid the restaurant.

Dinner at the restaurant downstairs was excellent. The place itself is charming, clean, and well maintained, and the staff are helpful and friendly. The price may be a bit high for what’s offered: there’s no air conditioning, only a noisy fan and a tiny TV. Breakfast needs a complete overhaul, and costs extra. It’s only pastries, yogurt and spreads, all pre-packaged, with nothing homemade, no savory options and no local products.

The staff were friendly, and the place has lovely views of the surrounding nature. It's a welcoming stone building, with warm, clean rooms and simple furnishings. Breakfast was a generous buffet.

Staying in an old granary gave the place a lot of charm. Our room was clean, with a comfortable bed and its own bathroom. We found the simple, authentic dinner at Osteria della Spada really satisfying, and the service was excellent. Having that restaurant downstairs was very convenient. Breakfast was straightforward and fuss-free. I'd recommend it.
