Pian delle Starze

Giovanni deserves a special thanks for making our visit feel extra special. We stayed in a second-floor suite with a balcony, where we could watch both sunrise and sunset over the coastline. The hotel is tucked into peaceful hills, with hiking trails and secluded beaches easy to reach. Everywhere was beautifully kept, and the attention to detail stood out. The views of the blue sea are breathtaking. A charming, homey place that I'd gladly recommend.

The junior suite came at an extra cost, and I'm not convinced it was worth paying more for. There were plenty of couples around, and I seemed to be the only solo traveler. Still, I loved having breakfast and dinner on the lovely terrace, and the staff were wonderful. The property is beautiful, with a huge pool, and I had perhaps the best cappuccino of my life.

The staff were insuperable, and breakfast was calm and well served. Our room's bathroom, air conditioner, television, and other facilities all worked perfectly. We had a marvelous view straight from the balcony, and the pool and location were wonderful. The drawback is the distance from Marina di Camerota, which can be inconvenient if you want an evening meal and a walk downtown, though the drive takes only five minutes. We hoped to try the hotel's restaurant, “Carrubone,” but it was temporarily closed after the coronavirus events.

The location and swimming pool are great, but the rooms feel small and outdated. Breakfast was neither good nor bad, and the Wi-Fi was very poor. Some staff couldn't speak English and showed little compassion, so it felt as if the place might be focused mostly on Italian guests.
