Il Cenacolo Di Sissi

Just perfect.

A traditional B&B in a very quiet spot. Silvia welcomes you into her home, and she's a wonderful person, the real highlight. Breakfast is good too. Recommended.

Evening in the little garden is lovely, with the sun setting over the Lazio countryside. Il Cenacolo di Sissi feels like its own small world, though it's only about 50 minutes from Rome. The B&B is tucked near the Via Francigena in Campagnano and the entrance to Veio Park, in the Sorbo area. Silvia is so welcoming, and her shy dog Polly adds to the homely feel. My first-floor room was clean and nicely furnished, with a balcony and a spacious, comfortable bed. The small private bathroom was just outside the room and well kept. Breakfast was a real treat: Silvia's homemade jam, fresh pastries, and unforgettable French toast with fruit. This isn't a hotel, and that made the stay feel especially personal. A lovely place to rest, find some quiet, focus, or get away from the city for a bit. Silvia's kindness alone makes the trip worthwhile, and I already felt at home.

We only had a short stay, but felt at home from the start. Silvia and Paolo were genuinely kind, and the price was very good for what we got. We came from Milan with my husband, Tiara, for November 4-5, 2024, because we needed to adopt another bully from a nearby shelter. Silvia greeted us at the pastel-blue gate with a warm smile. Inside, the patio was full of flowers and plants, and Polly welcomed us with her sweet little eyes. Silvia even offered us coffee. We were the only guests that day, so she let us choose between two spotless rooms upstairs. We picked the one with a balcony, two comfortable chairs, and a small table, as well as an adjacent private bathroom. The other room was a little bigger, with a large bright window and an ensuite bathroom. We had called the day before to book dinner. Silvia cooked it in the large, tastefully furnished living room: tasty appetizers, a terrific amatriciana, and delicious chicken. Later, with the weather mild, we sat outside with Silvia and her partner Paolo, chatting over amaro. Breakfast was included and just as lovely, with eggs, toast, Silvia's cake, jam, and lots of fresh fruit. Thank you, Silvia and Paolo, for making us feel so welcome. I really hope we can come back.
