Agriturismo Il Punto Verde

This was the worst experience of my life. Before booking four nights over the Christmas holidays, we called the owner to arrange a late arrival after 11 PM and ask if the apartment would be heated. We were told both would be fine. We arrived at 11:30 PM in 5°C fog and drizzle, found the key in the shutter, and discovered the inner door standing open. Inside it was 11°C and the heating was off. I tried to turn it on right away, but it took a while to warm up. When we got out at 7 AM after spending the night in sweatshirts and a hat, it had only reached 15°C. The bathroom shower was held together with moldy silicone, its sliding rails were rickety, and the door had been kicked in. The linens and sheets smelled strongly of smoke from the wood stove. There was no hair dryer, and in the morning a half-eaten mouse, chewed by the cats, was outside the door. Booking.com couldn't get us a refund. The owner said starting the heating early costs too much, denied everything, and treated all of this as normal.

Elena was available straight away and managed to find us two free nights in high season through our Smartbox package. We stayed in the "Giglio" apartment for two nights. It was cute and clean, with a lovely veranda for meals outside, though a little dark and without air conditioning. There's also a lovely pool and barbecue at the property. Breakfasts were generous, with homemade products. Recommended for a relaxing break!

The owner was very kind and accommodated my needs as a biker, even though those aren't part of the standard farmhouse amenities. The farmhouse is charming, with a lovely pool amid the Maremma countryside. It makes a wonderful place to relax, and is well placed between the Amiata mountains, the sea, and Uccellina Park (Maremma Regional Park). 5 stars :-)

We had everything we needed in the "Il Tulipano" apartment, where we stayed for two weeks in July with our family, one child and one dog. The pool was right beside us and always great for a refreshing dip. It's wonderfully quiet, surrounded by olive trees, and a great base for exploring southern Tuscany. Grosseto is 15 minutes away by car for anything you need, and the sea is 30 minutes away. The landlady was helpful and there whenever we needed her. Great value for money. We'll definitely be back.
