The best thing about staying here is the river right alongside the property. In summer you can take a cold, really refreshing dip. There’s also a playground, a restaurant and a BBQ area, though you need to bring your own charcoal. The rooms are small but fine for sleeping. The bathroom was cramped, especially the shower, which was far too tight to be comfortable. Cleanliness seemed acceptable to me, though my wife might disagree. Breakfast felt pretty pointless to us: a few little pieces of ham and cheese, dry white bread that may have been old or thawed, a croissant, orange juice and coffee. The staff were nice enough, but spoke only Italian, which was frustrating. We paid 1100 EUR for seven nights in a room for two adults and two children, breakfast included, about 160 EUR per night. I’m not convinced it was good value. Other places nearby seemed considerably more expensive, though, so maybe it was.

I’ve been coming back every spring since this place was built. The riverside rooms have a lovely view, and there’s a great restaurant with a really good bar only a few metres away. Just excellent.

We had plenty of lovely snow during our stay at this spectacular guesthouse in Campertogno, Valsesia. It’s a cabin tucked into nature, with the calming sound of the Sesia River and complete quiet around us. The wooden rooms are rustic and romantic, with what you need, and there’s a kettle with lots of teas and other hot drinks. The owners made us feel very welcome. We’ll definitely come back and see Valsesia in another season.

The Sesia River is only a few metres away, and the place is surrounded by greenery and wonderfully peaceful. There’s a BBQ available, plus parking under the shade of the trees. This bed and breakfast in Campertogno, in the Sesia Valley, was very clean, and the welcome was friendly and warm. The rooms are simple, but have what you need for a quiet stay and sleep 2 to 4/5 people.
