Breakfast on the outdoor veranda was a great touch. It felt like a proper holiday, and during Covid it was more secure to eat on our own veranda. There was loads of food, and Gianluca was careful about gluten-free choices, which mattered since my girlfriend has celiac disease. He was also quick to answer on WhatsApp and happy to give advice about getting around the island. His parents, who run the agriturismo, were helpful too. Our spacious room had a big bathroom and shower, and the place is surrounded by greenery, just a five-minute walk from the center of Marina di Campo. Prices were very good for the location. Highly recommended.

There’s no TV by choice, which I agree with. Even in high season, we could read on the veranda at night and sleep in peace, so we didn’t miss one. The place has free Wi-Fi, a few simply furnished but practical rooms, and large bathrooms that are fully equipped. Each room has a lovely covered veranda with a kitchenette and a table for eating outside. The communal breakfast area is always open, with hot drinks, juices, pastries, focaccia, pizza, and fruit. The owners are friendly and easy to talk to. It’s quiet and set in the countryside, about a 10-15 minute walk from Marina di Campo’s center and large beach. I’d definitely stay here again if I’m back on Elba.

The peaceful evenings were a real plus, and the town center is an easy walk away. We chose Agriturismo Orione for a short stay on Elba, an island we visit often. The fireflies in the garden at night were lovely, and breakfast was good, especially the croissants, bread, and yogurt. Still, there were a lot of little oversights. Water leaked from a small pipe behind the toilet, and we ran out of coffee pods for breakfast. The coffee maker and kettle had such short cords that we needed an extension. There was a musty smell when we arrived, and it stayed even with the door open, so we bought an odor absorber ourselves. There weren’t many mosquitoes, luckily, but it would help to have a fixed mosquito net on the window and a magnetic one that closes behind you at the entrance. The removable net we bought at the hardware store was a workaround. The bristle curtains are ugly and useless, and not very hygienic. A straw net divider also feels outdated; bamboo or thin twigs would look better. These are just suggestions, and a bit more forethought would go a long way. Otherwise, no complaints about the quiet.

The breakfasts were excellent, with plenty to eat, and every morning we got tips about which beaches to visit based on the weather. The staff were friendly and top-notch. It’s a beautiful, quiet place surrounded by greenery.
