Bergchalet Hotel Reinerhof

We had a really lovely stay. Karl knows his work inside and out, and his love for the mountains and the surrounding area really comes through. He welcomed us warmly and made us feel at ease right away. The property is simple but well kept, with fresh air and beautiful views, and the food was excellent, made with quality ingredients. There are hikes for all kinds of interests just a few kilometers away, so it’s an ideal place to get away from everyday work and noise. I’d have given it five stars, but our second-floor room had no bidet, and there’s no elevator to help with luggage. Still, it’s worth trying.

Karl-Heinz is one of a kind and pays attention to every little detail. We had a wonderful week, and the two sweet cats, Sissi and Franzl, were absolutely adorable. We’d love to come back and highly recommend it. You’d be missing out if you didn’t stay here :)

The food was wonderful, from the legendary breakfast buffet to the authentic, delicious dinners. Karl is a fantastic cook. The new rooms were spotless and looked out over a beautiful, untouched valley. The whole hotel has such a peaceful, easygoing feel, thanks in large part to Karl, who welcomed us with warmth and a lovely smile. The biggest drawback was the many flies, likely because cattle barns are scattered all around the area. The hotel itself is quiet and convenient for day trips, and there’s a free bus pass available from the hotel. It’s pet-friendly, and the owner’s two cats wander around calmly. He’s attentive, always available with excursion ideas, a great cook, and clearly loves animals. Our room had been renovated with local wood and had a very comfortable mattress, quick hot water, a fridge, hairdryer, cutlery, kettle, cups and tea, LED lighting, blackout curtains, and a safe. Closet space was limited. Parking is free in front or behind the hotel, and the underground entrance is handy for storing boots and other things. The spa is well cared for, compact but functional. The dining room is small, though there’s seating at the bar or on the terrace with a lovely view. Breakfast was generous, with fresh bread or toast, fruit salad, cheese, cereal, yogurt, homemade jams, orange juice and other juices, water, coffee, and tea. There weren’t any croissants.
