The room was roomy and clean, and the food tasted good, though the servings were small. The bed was a real problem: the mattress felt much too soft and uncomfortable. The setting is lovely, and the staff were nice, but the atmosphere felt unfriendly and the owners and their family seemed grumpy. We also didn't receive the complimentary wine.

We especially enjoyed the Italian dinners, and everyone in the Leitner family, who own the hotel, was very friendly. The hotel sits in a beautiful mountain setting with lots of trekking options, including nearby peaks over 3,000 metres high. The rooms have basic furnishings: a bed, wardrobe, bedside tables, a table and chair, and a bathroom with a tub.

The breakfast was excellent, and we also had dinner at the Hotel Alpenrast one evening. It was superb, and we'd highly recommend it. We spent three nights there with bed and breakfast included. The room was spacious and recently renovated, and we were warmly welcomed; whenever we had a question, we got a quick, courteous answer. It's a very quiet spot, with beautiful hiking trails and a large cross-country ski area nearby. There's also a chairlift and a T-bar lift on site, handy for children taking a few ski lessons.
