B&B Porta San Paolo

We booked the small first-floor room at the door through a third-party site, and the host let us in within 30 minutes. Service was great and the price was good. The room and private bathroom are small, but they were comfortable enough for our two-night stay. Breakfast was packaged sweets, colazione, and jams, which was okay. Even though we stayed two nights, daily cleaning and fresh towels weren’t included.

The owner was friendly and helpful, and the place itself was spacious and lovely. It’s in a fantastic spot.

The food options were generous enough that my daughter and I could choose rather than settle, even as celiacs. We rarely get treated so well about this. We stayed a few days ago, and from the warm welcome to the helpful service and cleanliness, the whole experience was wonderful. We’ll definitely be back.

I really can’t recommend this place. The location was inaccessible for us, and while we were there two people fell on the steep, slippery slope. I also found hair in the refrigerator, which was disgusting. I’d booked it for my father, who has trouble walking. They said it was on the first floor with just 10 steps, but left out that the stairs were impassable even for people without mobility issues. I was also told I could drive to the top floor to unload our luggage and help my father out, but that was impossible unless you had a Smart car. Before check-in, the manager reassured me that I’d have to leave, but I couldn’t leave my parents alone, so I was forced to stay. I asked for a full refund and got nowhere, despite the fact that only one of us stayed instead of two. I was not refunded the difference I’d paid in advance either. Luckily, I found another hotel for my parents at a much lower price than this B&B.
