The host made check-in easy and welcomed me, though payment had to be in cash. The hot water boiler wasn't working, so that evening she arranged another place for me just outside town. The room and bathroom there were clean, but the mattress felt uncomfortable and probably old. The original property had the listed Wi-Fi, TV, washing machine, and large fridge with freezer, but the kitchen cleanliness left a lot to be desired.

They were able to get me a room within 15 minutes of my call after I was unhappy with another booking, and the managers were kind, helpful, and serious throughout. The renovated spaces were pleasant and very clean, and our stay was nice. Still, the bed dipped on one side and made sleeping uncomfortable. Breakfast was packaged food, which felt like a missed opportunity with such good bakeries nearby; even a café voucher downstairs for Molise pastries would have been lovely. Parking is also hard to find in this central spot, and there isn't a reserved space. The B&B is in a historic building next to the main square, and I'd happily come back.

The room itself was clean, but I left disappointed and won't return. Breakfast was scant, and since I don't drink coffee, the only tea was two already-opened bags. The kitchen was still full of dirty, smelly dishes when we left in the morning, and the sink and fridge were dirty too. There was a smoky smell in the shared area when we arrived. The owner did welcome us warmly, but the overall experience didn't match the reviews.

Less than 24 hours before I was due to leave, Mr. Massimo Spina messaged to say the boiler had broken and sent me instead to the B&B in Ferrazzano. That was a serious disruption. What's puzzling is that the boiler seems to be working today and Sunday, and those dates still show as open for immediate booking on the site. When I first called about the listing on B00king, he had suggested booking directly with him for a discount. Be careful, since some owners with multiple properties seem to do this to fill as many rooms as possible.
