Paradise Beach

We had a great time, and the homes were good too. The windows with shutters and blinds let you keep the sun out while still getting some air, or make the rooms completely dark for sleep. There’s parking, and the beach is very close. The people were cheerful, friendly, and helpful. The pool was great, the sandy beach was quiet thanks to private access, and the kids had a playground. Highly recommended!

The pool was great and the beach is only two minutes away. For a couple who loves the beach, it’s a perfect spot. The staff are lovely, and there’s a fully equipped kitchen, which helps since there are almost no restaurants within walking distance. The accommodation is very basic and dated, so don’t expect luxury. The park and other facilities for kids were also dated and broken or damaged.

From the balcony, the pool looked lovely in the morning, and the property’s overall appearance was good. There was parking, and supposedly a private beach, though we never used it. The room itself was frustrating: the bedroom ceiling was so low I could barely stand upright, and I hit my head countless times. We had to crawl to reach the wardrobe. There were no bedside sockets, and no curtain to keep the morning sun out. The walls offered no soundproofing at all, so we heard a family with several crying children below us throughout our stay. The bathroom wasn’t clean, and the toiletries amounted to one small shower gel sachet per person for the whole stay. The hosts, a family living onsite, mostly greeted us as if we were intruders, though one girl was very kind. They said we had to take out the rubbish when we left, even though the bin was full when we arrived. The rules asked us to leave the apartment as we found it, which might be fair enough, but it felt as though the hosts weren’t cleaning between stays and were relying on the previous guests.

Piero and Pero were warm, friendly hosts, and the pool was great for the kids and cooling down in the sun. We stayed in an attic room that was very comfortable, with lovely balcony views and great air conditioning. The shower still worked, though it could use a little maintenance. The kids enjoyed the freedom to play. The play park and volleyball net were fine, but the fussball table needs updating. It’s a relaxing place with the beach nearby. You’ll need a car for restaurants and supermarkets, and Cefalu is well worth the drive. A van comes round in the morning with fresh bread, which was a nice touch. Overall, we had a great stay, thank you.
