A deep garage is included at no extra charge, and the Wi-Fi worked well. The apartment is comfortable and has kitchen tools, a freezer, cooker, and microwave, though there’s no hairdryer. You have to pay separately for bedclothes and towels, and the deposit is 150 EUR. The ski room has old metal lockers and no ventilation, so the boots stay damp. Guests also have to clean before leaving. The building sits right beside the main road, with the skibus stopping outside. It takes about 10 minutes, or 3-4 stops, to reach the Canazei Belvedere ski lifts.

We’ve spent a lot of time in Italy, but this was a very bad experience. The owner acted crazily and wanted to keep our 150 E deposit because we’d left our skis on the balcony for one night. He even shut and locked my whole family inside the reception. Never again. If you can stay somewhere else, choose different accommodation.

You can have breakfast or dinner in the tavern, and there’s a sauna available for a small daily fee. The apartments also have an underground car park. Each one comes with free Wi-Fi, TV, microwave, kitchenette with an exhaust hood, oven, and fridge. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. Casa Canazei is a lovely residence in a fabulous valley in the heart of the Dolomites, and the prices are reasonable.

The location is good, but the place felt a bit rundown and dirty. It was in the middle of construction, with a hammer drill going and the smell of tar around.

Canazei itself is a great place, and we’ll visit again. I can’t say the same about residence casa canazei hotel. Dealing with the owner and the hotel was too much.
