We’d have forgotten the stay if we could. After a long day out in the snow, we had no hot water, and the rooms weren’t cleaned. The new building also seemed poorly looked after, with mold on the walls. Breakfast the next morning was made up of leftovers from the day before. It was homemade, but really unappealing. Friends of ours paid a few dozen euros more at a nearby place and got more welcoming rooms and an international breakfast.
We were the only guests, yet breakfast was generous and included cheese and sausages they make themselves. The old building has been renovated beautifully. Our room was spacious, clean, and practically laid out, with a well-equipped kitchen and even a terrace. Highly recommended.
This is really a B&B, and our host made us feel welcome. We had a roomy apartment with a kitchen, fridge, balcony, and a big bathroom. Breakfast was good, with cheeses made at home.
Cansano makes a handy base for Roccaraso, Pescocostanzo, Bosco di Sant'Antonio, and the slopes of the Maiella and Morrone mountains. The rooms are spacious, more like little self-contained apartments, and the owner's lamb and dairy products are truly "stuff from another era." The place feels simple and clean, a peaceful spot for well-being. A lovely example of Abruzzo, strong and gentle at once.
We were pleasantly surprised by Rocco and his agriturismo. Campo di Giove and Bosco Sant'Antonio are very close. The apartments were spacious and comfortable, and the rooms were nicely warm. Breakfast was just right, with freshly baked pastries, and our friendly hosts even gave us fruit and juice for free.
