We had a great week in Porto Santa Margherita. Our two-bedroom apartment was comfortable and clean, and the building, garden, and pool were all well maintained. The location is excellent, close to the beach club and to conveniences like a market, restaurant, and ice cream parlor. We rented a beach spot at Verde Mare, which had good prices and friendly staff at the club, bar, and restaurant. It’s well set up for kids too, with a playground, pool, and mini golf course.

I’m having to change locations because dogs aren’t allowed to swim in the sea in Porto Santa Margherita, not even in public beach areas. In Caorle, which is in the same municipality, dogs are allowed on public beaches and in two areas called “Bau Beach,” which are well equipped for our four-legged friends. I don’t understand the difference.

Caorle is enchanting and just a stone’s throw away, but this is a much quieter option. You still have all the services you need, including restaurants, shops, and pharmacies, and the great thing is that everything is within easy walking distance. 👍👍👍
