Soggiorno Aurora

The apartment was spotless, and the sea view was superb. The beach is right outside, with the town center and old town close enough to reach on foot. It's very family-friendly and perfectly located. The only small issue was not quite enough cutlery and cups in the kitchen.

The worst part started before we even got into the apartment. We were told it would be ready in about an hour, but after waiting six hours we had to ask again for the bed linen we'd booked. The young receptionist said he would return shortly, then an hour passed before we went to the manager. He eventually handed us sheets so we could make the bed ourselves. The place was also noisy all night. The refrigerator was far too loud, the air conditioner creaked even when turned off, and outside sounds came through despite the closed windows. The stairwell had already killed the holiday mood, with the feel of a neglected apartment block. Getting luggage from the parking area meant carrying it over very narrow stairs and a long distance, so you need to be in good shape. Parking itself was chaotic: there isn't enough room, owners have to direct cars into place, and spontaneous trips out are practically impossible. The room was okay, but cleanliness was awful. The toilet had been marked as cleaned with a ribbon, yet there was fecal matter under the lid. Hair was left on the sink and floor, and our socks quickly turned brown from the dirty floor. We told the manager about it when he asked on the second day. He thanked us for saying something, but nothing was cleaned again. The reception notice says someone is there from 9:15 to 10:30 each morning. Most days, guests were already waiting at 9:30, and when they called, the manager would usually say he was running late. We booked after seeing good reviews on Google and travel sites, so this was a huge letdown.

We found the house clean and comfortable when we arrived, and Luca was available even at awkward times. My parents and I stayed at the end of August, and it was easy to enjoy Caorle from here: the beach is right outside, the center is close, and both Despar and Coop are only 100 meters away.

We stayed at the Soggiorno Aurora for two weeks in August 2020. The stairs were my biggest concern. The inside and outside steps are rounded and very slippery, and two people fell and hurt themselves during our stay. The anti-slip tape on them was either missing or smooth, so they seemed dangerous for adults and children alike. We also had to sort out the beach umbrella after a week. We were told to move because the one we'd been using had been assigned to another family, even though we still had another week of our stay left. Parking was cramped too, and on departure day we had to wait for the owners of cars next to ours to be contacted so we could get our car out. Inside, there was sand everywhere, plastic bottles under the beds, and lots of dust behind the bedside tables. The cookware wasn't usable, especially the badly worn non-stick pans, which should be thrown away. I hope the owner takes this as a note for improvement.
