Borgo La Pietraia

After seven days in Rome and Firenze, this quiet, small place was exactly the break from Italy's bustle that I needed. It may look rustic and no frills at first, but that's not how it feels once you're there. The food was excellent, the views and grounds were beautiful, and the staff made me feel like family. They cared about the small details, and it showed.

We loved our time here. The view is the best in the area, and the food is great, with thoughtful finishes and fair prices. The owner brings the place to life, and the planning and architecture make a real difference. For anyone who notices and appreciates those details, this is a real gem and a huge bargain. The people are superb and incredibly hospitable.

The people are what make this place feel like family. Months before we arrived, Arianna, Chiara, and Rafaella helped me plan activities and answered all my questions. During the stay, the staff arranged tours and were available on WhatsApp whenever we needed them. The restaurant team was patient and helpful, and the food was among the best we had in Italy, so fresh and made with real care. Breakfast was included every day. Twice we had early starts for booked day trips, and they packed breakfast to go, complete with drinks and snacks we could eat for lunch. The rooms are all suites with huge, beautiful views, and the hotel itself is wonderful. I would have moved in if I could. I've never enjoyed a hotel this much, and I highly recommend it.

A quiet escape from Rome's fast pace, and just right for us. We couldn't have enjoyed the stay more. The service was excellent, and they treated us like real guests.
