We booked at the last minute during the off season, and it was quiet on Tuesday. We went to the ruins the next day. Dinner and drinks were nothing special, but breakfast was included and really good. The 'Glass' hot tub was a nice touch for Nov 11, and the bartender showed me how to switch on the jets.

The hotel is only a few minutes from an amazing archaeological site, and it’s family owned. With some small changes, it could be a five-star place, but the owners seem very cheap about little things. You have to request Kleenex and toilet paper for the room, and pool or beach towels cost 3 euros each. The continental breakfast didn't even have scrambled eggs. The lido across from the hotel isn't accessible; a shuttle takes you to another one about five minutes away. The pool also closes when there’s an event like a wedding reception. It would be less irritating if they added a 10 euro resort fee upfront and handled these minor details. I’m sure adding 10 or 20 euros to the nightly rate wouldn’t affect guests looking for a five-star stay.

Reception staff were very friendly, and nights were really quiet when there wasn't an event on. The ensuite needs renovation. At breakfast I had to pay extra for an omelette, but there were no signs explaining the extra charge.

We got complimentary champagne for our anniversary, which was a lovely surprise. Everyone was friendly and the breakfast was fantastic, plus parking was a big help. I'm a tall, heavy guy, and this was the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in. Thank you!

The pools are lovely, breakfast was good, and the staff were quick to help with anything we needed. The rooms feel dated, though, and there's no bathroom door or coffee machine in the room, so I wouldn't call it a five-star hotel. If you want morning shade, a sea-view room is a better choice than one facing the parking lot.
