Agriturismo Monte Alzato

We've been coming for a few years and plan to keep returning. It's a lovely spot for families who want to unplug, out in the countryside but still handy for visiting local attractions. The owners are welcoming and give you space.

The apartment was generously sized, with covered parking, and the owner was kind. I also liked the quiet and the location in the heart of Maremma, only a short drive from the beach. There were some real drawbacks, though. Mosquitoes got in despite the windows being closed, and the stable with a cow right in front of the apartment made it hard to sleep because of the constant barn noise. The road to the agriturismo was in poor shape, practically unpaved, with very tall rocks in the middle. Even going slowly, I worried about seriously damaging the car. At €85 a night, the price didn't feel cheap or suited to this kind of property. We expected more.

They leave coffee, milk, water, and homemade pastries for breakfast, and the owners are kind and helpful. The house is nicely renovated, clean, and has cool air conditioning. Parking is right out front. The prices are good, so I'd recommend it. Thanks to the owners.

The hostess was so kind and helpful that she brought us homemade desserts on both days of our stay. The owners deserve a special mention. The farmhouse is peaceful and quiet, just steps from the sea. Its small guest apartments are rustic, spacious, and well cared for, and the cleanliness was excellent. Recommended!
