There’s not much to do in this tiny hamlet, which would have been fine if transport up the long, winding drive from Menaggio had been reliable and affordable. There’s no public transport on Saturday nights or any time on Sunday. The green, stagnant above-ground pool spoils an otherwise nice lake view. No AC, and the TV is tiny. Over 20 years of visiting Italy, this was my worst stay. We stayed twice because the bookings couldn’t be refunded. The place felt more Swiss local than Italian.

The pasta was the best ever, with loads of flavor and an enjoyable bite, plus some interesting shapes. The desserts were delicious too, especially the pistachio and raspberry shortbread. The Neapolitan cake was outstanding. The staff were all delightful and helpful, and the service was excellent. It was such a pleasant atmosphere and a really enjoyable experience.

The scenery, food, and staff at La Sorge Ristorante were all incredible. Our family had a wonderful time there while visiting Tuscany, and we ate there three times in one week. Chef Michael and the team were so welcoming and kind, it felt like having dinner with family. A real hidden gem. 10/10, we’ll be back!

The owner and Serena made the evening feel personal with their warmth, positive attitude, and obvious love for what they do. We had dinner at La Sorgente with family and friends, and it was unforgettable. Everything was homemade, fresh, carefully prepared, and full of authentic flavor. Excellent food and heartfelt service. We can’t recommend it enough.
