B&B Alloro

We loved it here! The animals, the nature, everything is beautiful. Such a great find if you want to get away from big cities and enjoy the countryside. The host is super friendly too.

The pool was very good and well looked after, and there was also a nice fishing pond with carp and small catfish. We spent a week here, surrounded by woods and meadows, in a nice place. The owner came across as distant and businesslike to us, though not unfriendly. The house and its decor are simple and very basic, and the interior felt dingy and sticky. Honestly, the price we paid for the house was very reasonable.

The location and views are lovely, with plenty of friendly animals. Our room was clean and breakfast was okay. But the stay became one upset after another. The host's English was limited, and communication with her was poor, leading to lots of misunderstandings. The swimming pool and bikes for rent were part of what drew us to the offer, but neither was available, and we weren't told beforehand. There was no working Wi-Fi, and mobile reception in the area was poor too. We prefer looking at Tuscan scenery to being online, but Wi-Fi should be there when the host says it's provided. Ants and other insects got into our room. After all these problems, we asked the host for a lift to the nearest train station. She refused, so we had to walk. She wasn't obliged to take us, but it would have been a kind way to make up for all the trouble. This could have been a really pleasant stay, but it wasn't. If you're thinking of staying at BB Alloro, consider carefully. The place is beautiful, but visiting off-season may leave you feeling like a second-category guest.

The hotel is wonderful and comfortable, and the owner is very friendly. It's in a beautiful spot near a medieval town with very good restaurants. I'd definitely recommend it!
