La Dimora dell'Inventore Luxury B&B

Make sure you have a good GPS for your first trip here. This huge, peaceful estate is tucked into greenery and Tuscan scenery, about a 10-minute drive from Lucca's city center. The hosts are delightful and make sure you have what you need. It has a generous breakfast and lots of amenities, and the place has a magnificent 19th-century style. The online photos don’t really show how impressive it is. Highly recommended.

The breakfast buffet was very good, and the bed in our beautiful room was really comfortable. The whole house has a lot of charm, set in a huge park with a pool behind it and a massive oak beside an artificial lake. There are a couple of geese and some goldfish too. Our host Davide was kind and helpful, and explained that the house had usually been used as a luxury rental. The Inventor's Home has only recently opened as a B&B, and the gate still has no sign, so trust me when I say it’s there. There was one small breakfast drawback: just jam croissants. My son doesn’t like jam or apple pie, so he went with bread and Nutella, a classic. WiFi is free and unlimited with no password, there’s a TV with SKY in the common area, and a bookshelf for anyone who likes to read. Only one day, but it was spectacular. I’m planning to return soon.

The owner was so friendly and helpful, and shared lots about the history of the area and property when welcoming us. The large garden, pool, and pond make the place charming. Our spacious, clean rooms were well kept and came with plenty of amenities: bathrobes, slippers, a hairdryer, shampoo, shower gel, soaps, tissues, and water with glasses for the night. Breakfast was a buffet with a range of fresh food. Highly recommended!

VorNo was an excellent base, just a few kilometers from Lucca and with very good restaurants nearby. We spent two nights here during Lucca Comics and Games. The furnishings were luxurious, the staff delightful, and breakfast was excellent.
