Residence Villa Anita

We needed somewhere at the last minute in Capo d'Orlando for my wife and the crew after an offshore sailing race. The apartment suited us well and was quite reasonably priced. The property has a large pool and green area, and the place is very nice and cosy, looking out over the bay and Marina with an excellent view toward the Aeolian islands. I'd highly recommend it for time around the area between the sea and mountains.

Right on the water, with a swimming pool, balconies with views, and a very clean, modern feel. The staff were great. I highly recommend it.

The pool and terrace made it hard to tear ourselves away, especially with that view of the islands and boats leaving the harbor. It’s tucked away on a cliff, well clear of the tourist noise, and the stairs down to the sea are a nice bonus. Danilo took care of everything and gave us recommendations we really enjoyed.

The location is remote, so having no breakfast option and nothing to order during the day was a real inconvenience. The “bar” wasn’t really there, and the coffee was mediocre, which is almost a sin in Italy. I also had to ask several times for toilet paper and for fresh towels and bed linen. On vacation, I don’t want to chase after basic household things, and it didn’t make us feel welcome as paying guests. When the owner asked for feedback, I mostly got excuses instead of a sincere apology. The explanation that people here receive free money or benefits and therefore don’t want to work, so he couldn’t find staff, really annoyed me. It felt like an excuse. Nobody is making him run accommodation, but I didn’t get the sense he wanted to handle an important part of the job. The property partners with Booking, so I wonder whether this review will stay there. I copied it to Google too. I also wouldn’t be surprised if the owner responds as “very surprised,” as he apparently does to critical reviews that don’t give five stars. Such a shame, because it was all unnecessary. We won’t recommend it and will stay elsewhere next time in Sicily, which I do recommend.
