Piazzetta Diefenbach

The room was roomy and clean, with easy access for getting around and resting during a visit to Capri. It’s in front of the bus station for most major parts of Capri, and close to the funecolir cable car from the port to the upper town. The owner, Fabio, warmly welcomed us at check-in and check-out and gave us useful information about the island.

The breakfast was awful and barely edible, and the staff were unhelpful and hard to communicate with. They showed little interest in fixing our problems and barely spoke English, which made getting help even harder. We stayed just one night, and it was a terrible experience from beginning to end. The shower water was cold, and the hotel was appallingly dirty, with dirt and bugs everywhere. Finding bugs in our room was extremely unsettling. When we told the staff, they didn't seem concerned and just suggested we go to a pharmacy for mosquito repellent. That felt completely unacceptable and unprofessional. This was one of the worst hotel stays we've ever had, and I strongly advise people to look elsewhere.

The staff were lovely and attentive. When we checked in on 9/19/24, they gave us the most helpful check-in I've ever had, with detailed tips for things to do around the island and great dinner suggestions. The location is right in the heart of capri, with taxis and buses close by and the main square just a few meters away. The rooms are lovely, and the windows block all the noise from busy capri below.

We'd stay here again. It's a beautiful hotel in a handy location, with great views, friendly staff, and a delicious full breakfast. The only issue was some noise from the bus stop across the street.
