Villa Albonico

Fabio and his family made the stay feel personal, and breakfast was fresh every morning, prepared just how we liked it. We had a top-floor room with one of the best views of Como Lake I’ve seen. The bathroom was shared with just one other couple, and that wasn’t a problem at all. When we arrived, Fabio showed us a good place to park nearby and helped carry our things. It’s one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had, and I’d gladly recommend it to anyone travelling by car.

The owner and staff were so welcoming, and Fabio was there to help whenever we needed something. I felt really at ease in this relaxed, convenient part of Lake Como. It’s a spectacular place with a beautiful view, and a good-value bed and breakfast with a great bed. I’d recommend it.

We stayed in the Family apartment, which had a double bed, small kitchen and living room on one side of the floor, plus a bedroom with two beds and a couch on the other. Both rooms opened onto balconies with magnificent views of Lake Como. The space and cleanliness were both 5/5. The location also gets 5/5. Como, Laglio and Cernobbio are all close by. Parking is generally available, though it can be tricky, especially with a large car. That seems to come with Italy and Como. Fabio made breakfast himself in the garden overlooking the lake. He asked what we liked and served authentic Italian food. Cappuccino, eggs how you like them, cold cuts and cheese were all available. Some extras cost more, but the prices were fair and clearly written on a kitchen chalkboard. Breakfast: 5/5. Villa Albonico and Fabio get 5/5 from us, and we’d recommend them to anyone visiting Lake Como. Thank you, Fabio!

The breakfast was a real highlight, generous and good quality, with homemade jam and local products. Fabio, the owner, was an excellent host. We paid 85€ a night, and had no complaints at that price. It’s a romantic B&B with a lovely garden and spectacular lake views from the rooms. Some rooms have little balconies. We had our own toilet but shared the bathroom. Hope to be back soon :o)
