Novotel Milan Malpensa Airport

Yari at the front desk was super friendly and did a great job. Feeling welcomed as soon as you arrive makes a good first impression, and that was definitely the case here. The room was clean and a reasonable size. Breakfast was okay, but could be better, especially with more fresh fruit. It stopped at 10 am on Saturday, which felt too early for people on vacation. One guest arrived at 10:20 and couldn't find anything to eat. They asked for anything at all, but were told there was nothing left. I think good staff would have seated them and found something to bring them.

For the money, this was pretty good, and the airport is close, though too far to walk. A transfer is needed, costing 5 euro per person and a little more between 10pm and 5am. Our room had a double bed and a sofa bed. The double was comfortable, while the sofa bed was only okay. The toilet seemed a bit old, and the air conditioning wasn't really working. They provided free water, but with four of us I expected at least four bottles. Still, not bad overall.

The rooms were modern, pretty and comfortable, with good beds and pillows. The bathroom had a separate tub and shower, and everything inside was great. The lobby and reception also look fresh and modern, with a pleasant clean smell when you walk in. From outside, though, the building doesn't look like much and could use a new coat of paint. The TV called 'smart' didn't support apps like Netflix or screen casting, which was disappointing. The room was warm, and we couldn't cool it with the AC, so we slept with the window open. The airport shuttle also costs extra, which was another letdown since free shuttles are common back home. It's a beautiful hotel in a great location, but there are a few things to improve.

Matteo and the team on 2/23-24 were incredibly hospitable. Weather delays left me needing a place to stay, arranged through the airline booking agency, but the airlines weren't helpful. Once I got to IBIS, the staff sorted out my room and a ride to the airport, and included a generous breakfast at the hotel. Since we'd been stuck at the airport, they also called a nearby hotel so we could have lunch. Thanks for all the help and hospitality.
