Hotel Nettuno

Right on the seafront, the setting is beautiful. The property itself needs work, though. The rooms and exterior are a bit run-down and could use renovation.

I’m reviewing the restaurant only, since I didn’t stay at the hotel. They serve pizza, pasta, and seafood, and the food is good. I’d suggest the fusilli with mushroom and chorizo sauce, as well as the fisherman’s grill with fish, cuttlefish, and prawns. Prices are a little higher than at L'Anglo dei Golosi. We happened to visit during a birthday party for some rather noisy 13-14 year olds. There was quite a commotion, but we put up with it patiently. The lady who served us apologized and treated us to dessert. She was very kind.

The pizza was excellent, and there were both traditional and local dishes on the menu. It’s a characteristic place near the sea, with friendly, quick service.

My wife and I spent a week in Cariati Marina two years ago, at the Lido of the Nettuno Hotel. We posted this on Facebook at the time: “We wanted to say how much we appreciated the way you treated us. Your warmth and hospitality made us feel at ease, and if we come back to Cariati, we’ll definitely return for another stay like this. Gigi was fantastic and so friendly, he deserves a big hug. He reminded us of the hospitality and courtesy Southerners are known for. His wife was cheerful and very friendly too. Orlando was attentive and excellent. He seemed a bit distracted :) but really had everything under control. He’s also a biker like me, which is a big plus :) “The chef did an excellent job, though we didn’t meet him. We hope we’ll see him next time and get to try his dishes again. And a big hug to Rossella, who’s very young but already so thoughtful and courteous. If we’re back in the area, we’ll be sure to visit you again!!!”
