We had a cosy room in this charming hotel, right in the hilltop village of Cariati. The bed was comfortable, and there was a TV, good Wi-Fi, and a large bathroom. Breakfast was delicious, with bread, pastries, cereal, and yoghurt to choose from. Alessandra made coffee for us and cooked eggs, serving them with prosciutto and cheese.

The rooms really stood out: lots of space, spotless, and furnished with care while keeping the building's original details. Palazzo Mascambruno is right in Cariati's historic center, and the renovation gives this old place a lovely mix of history and modern comfort. The whole building feels peaceful, with little touches that make it feel like it has its own story. The staff were warm and attentive, always ready to help, and made us feel at home. A memorable spot for a relaxing stay in authentic Calabria. I'd happily come back.

Cariati Vecchia is a great central location, and the rooms are spacious. The staff were friendly and helpful, but at this price there are several things to keep in mind. Breakfast was inconsistent, sometimes just a drink and a croissant at another nearby place. Room cleaning was every other day and a bit careless, including missing sheets for the bed type. The single beds had poor quality bases and mattresses, and the French windows didn't close properly. Air conditioning in the loft rooms wasn't very effective. Running water depended on the tank and wasn't available before 9:30 AM, and you can't reach the place by car after 9 PM.

We felt really well looked after here. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and the staff were friendly, knew their stuff, and stayed available throughout. The dishes were tasty and carefully made, with super fresh fish. Definitely recommend it.
