The steep stairs to the rooms are poorly ventilated and can be a tough climb in summer, especially with a stroller or luggage. We also had no Wi-Fi during our stay, which made the smart TV hard to use. The air conditioning had a minimum setting of 24°C and was controlled externally, with no way for us to change it. While we were out, it was turned off, probably during housekeeping, and the room was very warm when we returned. Breakfast was very limited, just a coffee, so keep that in mind before booking. Despite these issues, the guesthouse has plenty going for it and is priced in line with the area. A few adjustments could make for a fully satisfying stay. The rooms are tastefully furnished, impeccably clean, and cleaned very well every day. The large modern TV is another strong point. The location is convenient, and good soundproofing made for restful nights. Thanks to Simone and his partner for their kindness.

The only drawback is the rather steep staircase, which wouldn’t suit someone with a disability or mobility issues. Otherwise, everything was great. The building is brand new, right across from the ferry dock, and our spacious room looked out over the harbor. The bathroom had a super shower and wall-mounted shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion. Soundproofing was excellent, staff were very kind and helpful, and there was a welcoming little corner stocked for a quick coffee or tea. Highly recommended.

I stayed from May 31 to June 1, 2025, during a busy Girotonno World Cup weekend, but the room was well soundproofed. The room and bathroom were very clean. I had a small problem with the TV remote, and the host sorted it out quickly and was kind and courteous. The only downside was the stairs up to the rooms, which might be a little too steep for older guests.

Casa Cicindela is a great base for arriving in Carloforte, exploring the town, and enjoying the traditional food. We stepped off the ferry and were at the house just a few steps later, with a breathtaking harbor view. The rooms are spacious and beautiful, carefully designed down to the smallest detail. The high-quality windows keep them soundproof, and I especially appreciated the lovely sheets, good enough for a 5-star hotel. We’ll definitely return!
