Avio, the handyman, cooks generous, traditional meals with local ingredients and shares stories from the area between courses. This is a small, welcoming osterija, so it’s best to book ahead. For €30 per person, we had an appetizer, first and second courses, desserts, coffee, caramel dell'Allpino, Montepulciano, and water. We left a small tip because we enjoyed it so much. If you’re passing through, don’t miss it. Anyone after trendy gourmet dining should look elsewhere. Simply one of the best meals of my life.

The owner was incredibly responsive to what we asked for, and stood out both professionally and personally. You can feel the same simple, authentic values in him as in the carefully chosen details around this beautiful B&B. That warmth made us feel transported to a more solid, uncomplicated way of life. The lovely village is worth the trip, and we’ll definitely return. Highly recommended.

The owner is very friendly, and the place has a quaint feel, but there are serious things to address. We ate on a mezzanine with the stove on and smoke leaking out. At one point we didn’t feel well, perhaps from the heat or lack of ventilation. It also completely lacks safety standards, even though it’s in the historic center. The meal cost €25, and though I can’t say the food was bad, every course from appetizer through dessert was cheese-based: cheese-only appetizers, ricotta pasta, then boiled meat with cheese and eggs. With some well-done adjustments, the place could have real potential. I wish them all the best.

We’re from Pietrabbondante and only found this gem yesterday. The owner is a real host, so helpful and kind, and you absolutely have to try his gentian. The food is local and authentic, simple dishes made with love and no frills. Prices are very competitive. We’ll definitely be back!

Avio, the owner, captures the spirit of the area with his warmth, friendliness, intelligence, and care for local ingredients and tradition. I’ll take the liberty of calling him Savio. The intimate, welcoming atmosphere and charming accommodation make it easy to feel at home. Don’t let the restaurant’s modest entrance put you off, it might not hint at the cooking inside. Highly recommended.
