The room was allowed to stay with us until 7 pm at checkout, since nobody else was booked. That was a thoughtful option. There were a few little things overlooked in the room and bathroom, though everything else was fine. From booking through checkout we were treated very well, and Modestina was helpful and kind. The garden was a treat to see, and Elvio, Modestina’s son, showed it to me and we had a nice chat. His family clearly puts a lot of care into tending it. Mrs. Modestina welcomed me so warmly and generously that I felt at home straight away. I spent four nights in the Earth room last week, right in the heart of Marina di Carrara. The apartment was spotless, well looked after, and had all the comforts I needed. I’d happily return, and recommend the B&B for both the stay and the chance to meet such kind, passionate people.

You can get to the beach or go for an evening walk without a car, and the nearby parking spaces with white lines are free. We had a warm welcome, and Mrs. Modesta was flexible about our arrival time. The small apartment had a double bedroom with balcony, a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, washing machine, and breakfast basics including a pod coffee machine, juices, and seasonal fruit. It felt like an eco-friendly stay. Linens were provided, with a travel cot or a safety bar for a single cot available for children. We’d recommend it and would happily return if we’re in the area.

Modestina is such a kind, helpful owner, really one of a kind. We spent eight days there at the end of August, and the good reviews before ours were right. It’s not luxurious, but it’s practical, clean, comfortable, and private. We hope to come back soon.
