I was riding my motorcycle around Europe when I happened upon this gem. The room was beautiful, and I was amazed by the hospitality. I meant to stay just one night, but felt so comfortable that I stayed for two. On the second evening, the owner made an amazing meal. He's a very talented chef, and his young daughter was a delightful maître d'. Breakfast was one of the best I had in Europe too. Highly recommended.

The dining room and reception have a lovely feel, and the food was good at both dinner and breakfast. They also found us a place to keep our bikes out of the rain. Our room was spacious and clean, with a large, comfortable bed, and the staff were friendly and made us feel welcome. There were a few issues, though: the bathroom and shower weren't very clean, and the bedroom bin still had rubbish from previous guests. We also didn't understand the house rules until the next morning, so they could explain them more clearly. Palazzo di Mezzo was a nice stay, and with a few small changes it could be great.

The Italian country decor has lots of charming details, and the old-style building gets a modern touch from things like the glass lift. We found it in a small town close to several wine regions, with parking either underground or in the town lot behind the hotel. The staff were thoughtful and went out of their way to make our stay great. A lovely find.

Do not book. They knew a month ahead that we might arrive late, but the day before they made us cancel. Then they didn't refund the money. Eric

We worried this would take us too far off our route to Florence, but the stay was worth the detour. The old palace is really charming, the owner was so kind, and the restaurant food was delicious. Thanks for being so professional!
