Casa Cerboneschi

A real find, both the little hotel and the charming Tuscan village it's in. From the breakfast terrace you can look out over the sea, Elba, Corsica, and some smaller islands, which are also there to explore by boat. The rooms are lovely and the owners are lovely too. It's a bit off the beaten path, so you don't get crowds of tourists. For me, it's the most beautiful place to stay.

The breakfast was huge, with eggs, cereal, bread, and lots of homemade baked goods fresh from the oven. We felt at home in the owners' living room, by a beautiful fireplace. The price was very reasonable, too. The friendly, accommodating couple run this lovely B&B in a medieval building that's been updated while keeping much of its old character. Our roomy bedroom had a view straight out of a Tuscan postcard. If there's a room free, you'd be foolish to pass it up.

We keep coming back to Casa Cerboneschi. It's a perfect weekend escape any time of year, and I hope we can return soon. The rooms are simple, classy, and full of character. From the B&B you can see the stunning coast, and you're just 50 meters from the main “piazza,” where locals go for “aperitivo” and dinner. Despite that, nights are quiet. Francesco and Silvia are wonderful hosts who take care of every detail.

A really cosy stay, with a great terrace and lovely views. The hosts were so welcoming, and the authentic Tuscan breakfast was top quality and delicious. Unforgettable!
